Fest Deiz

Fest Deiz in the small coastal town of La Trinité sur Mer, Brittany, France. Fest Deiz – and Fest Noz, of which Fest Deiz is quite simply the daytime version – are traditional Breton dance festivals/gatherings, the origins of which date back hundreds of years. Pictured here, people gather together and link arms to form the beginning of a circle, to the accompaniment of live traditional Breton music played on a bombard and an accordion. © Rudolf Abraham.
