Waiting for Waterloo…

June 2015 marks the 200th anniversary of the historic Battle of Waterloo, in Belgium – an occasion which will be marked by a full scale reenactment of the famous battle, involving some 5000 re-enactors dressed in authentic military uniforms and period costume, 300 horses and 100 cannon, and including an overnight military encampment. It’s the sort of event which only comes along once in a while, and one which I’m hoping to photograph.

The images above – showing re-enactors dressed as the 92nd (Gordon Highlanders) Regiment of Foot (the 92nd fought at Waterloo) – were taken at the Lord Mayor’s Show, London, in November 2013 (No 88 in the procession, the Belgian Tourist Board Road to Waterloo 200).
